VIETNAM - Play-Full Exercise Groups - March 2012
I will be working in Vietnam doing some Gentle Exercise Groups before the Universal Medicine Retreat. There will be three very different exercise groups, to share a variety of gentle and play-full exercises that I enjoy doing to work on body awareness, strength, stability, balance and cardiovascular fitness, for the upper body, lower body and abdominal, back and core muscles.
There will be a maximum number of spaces available in each group, so the groups will be open first to those who cannot participate in exercise groups here in Australia (Northern NSW, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne).
See below for details about each group and how to book in.
Beach and Outdoor Exercise Group
Date: Friday 9th of March
Time: 6.15am-7.30am
Cost: $15 US
Location: Meet out the front of the River Beach Hotel
Bring: A bottle of water and wear walking shoes and clothing that is comfortable to exercise in.
This group will explore different standing, walking, stretching and balancing exercises that can be done gently in the outdoors (or indoors) to work on your cardiovascular fitness and your hip, knee and ankle balance, stability, flexibility and strength - as well as develop an awareness of what your upper body is doing during such exercises.
NOTE: Meet out the front of the River Beach Resort between 5.45am and 6.05am for registration and payment. Bring US $ only and the correct money to avoid any long line ups. We will leave for the beach at 5.55am, so please arrive on time so we can leave as a group. In the case of rain, dark rain clouds or bad weather the group will be held in the River Beach Resort old conference room, doing similar exercises.
Water Exercise Group
Date: Friday 9th of March
Time: 11am-12pm
Cost: $15 US
Location: River Beach Resort Swimming Pool
Bring: Your towel, a bottle of water for hydration and wear appropriate swim wear and sun protection.
This group will explore different ways to exercise your body gently in water, for cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and strength. Exercising in the water provides support for your body weight and a gentle physical resistance to do very different movements and play-full exercises that cannot be done on land.
NOTE: Arrive between 10.30am and 10.50am for registration and payment - Please bring US $ only and the correct money to avoid any long line ups. Please arrive on time so we can start to exercise as a group. In the case of rain, dark clouds and bad weather the exercise group will be cancelled. A final decision will be made by 10.30am.
Stretch & Strength Training Group
Date: Saturday 10th of March
Time: 6.15am-7.30am
Cost: $15 US
Location: River Beach Resort Old Conference Room
Bring: Two small bottles of water to use as hand weights, a thera-band if you have one (available to purchase on the day for $5 US), a towel to lay on, a pillow for your own comfort and a pen and paper to write down your exercises to start to develop your personal strength training program.
This group will explore different ways to stretch and strengthen your body gently and playfully, using hand weights, thera-bands and your body weight. By feeling and becoming aware of which muscles you are using in each exercise, you can begin to understand and discover what exercises your body truly needs to re-build strength and flexibility.
NOTE: Arrive between 5.45am and 6.05am for registration and payment - Please bring US $ only and the correct money to avoid any long line ups. Please arrive on time so we can start to exercise as a group.
